MANHEIM, Pa. - The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team had seven individuals named NWCA Scholar All-Americans for the 2025-26 season, announced Thursday (April 2) by the coaches organization. Tigers earning the award include
Griffin Bohanan,
Houston Frank,
Charlie Hutson,
Jarret Mader,
Griffin Mitchell,
Jaxson Thomas and
Cash Thomas.
To receive NWCA Scholar All-America status, student-athletes must meet one of the following academic and athletic criteria.
-All-American at the 2025 NCAA DII National Championships and 3.00 GPA.
-National Qualifier to the 2025 NCAA DII National Championships and 3.25 GPA.
-Competed in 4 or more events and 3.5 GPA.
Bohanan is a health and human performance major with a cumulative GPA of 3.61. Frank majors in agronomy with a GPA of 3.68. Hutson holds a GPA of 3.76 as an accounting major. Mader carries a perfect 4.00 GPA as a major in applied technology. Mitchell is a health and human performance major with a GPA of 3.92.
Jaxson Thomas also majors in health and human performance with a GPA of 3.61.
Cash Thomas holds a GPA of 3.60 as a business management major.
A total of 440 student-athletes, representing 64 of the 71 Division II institutions, were honored for their success in the classroom while competing throughout the season. Mader is one of 51 student-athletes nationwide who maintain a perfect 4.00 GPA.
