The Fort Hays State men's and women's track and field teams enter postseason competition this weekend (May 1-3) with the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State at the Russ Jewett Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Pittsburg, Kan.

Both Tiger squads enter the event ranked 24th in Division II according to the latest USTFCCCA Track and Field Rating Index.

Single day tickets will be available for $10 for adults and $5 for students ages 3-18. Three-day passes are also available for $15. Live video coverage will be available with a subscription to

Action will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and feature the long jump and hammer throw in the field and prelims in the 100m, 400m and 400m hurdles alongside the 10,000m finals on the track. Things kick off at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday including the high jump and discus in the field and prelims in the 200m, 800m and 100m/110m hurdles and the finals of the 3,000m steeplechase on the track. Sunday's finals in all other events will begin at 111 a.m. in the field and 2 p.m. on the track.

The Tiger women will have 27 student-athletes in Pittsburg competing in 43 events, with 17 Tigers competing in multiple events. Student-athletes from the women's squad will include

The Tiger men have achieved 15 national qualifying marks this season, including three that rank inside the top 10 in Division II and five that are inside the top 20.
Drew Tolar's total of 7,096 points in the decathlon are fifth-most in the country, while
Hunter Angove is sixth in the pole vault with his top mark of 17-3.5.
Dean Clark's school-record 24-11.25 in the long jump ranks ninth in DII, with
Josiah Ball moving to 15th in the pole vault after clearing a facility record 16-11 at last week's Alex Francis Classic.
Jackson Rumford is 19th on the descending order list in the javelin with his top heave of 217-8.

The women's squad has racked up nine national qualifying performances this season, with two ranking inside the top four in the nation and six ranking inside the top 20.
Annabeth Baalmann climbed to No. 3 in the pole vault after clearing 13-9.25 at the Alex Francis Classic, setting a new facility record, while
Katie Linenberger is now fourth in the high jump with her outdoor school-record clearance of 5-10.
Emma Slade's school-record toss of 163-11 in the discus is 11th nationally while the sophomore is 15th in the hammer with a top heave of 182-3.
Emily Diercks McCullough currently ranks 18th in Division II in the 10,000m with a time of 34:52.18, while
Natalee North is 19th in the discus with a mark of 158-7.
Four outdoor school records have been broken this season, including two from each team.
Avrey Albright broke the 400m record with a time of 46.80, while
Dean Clark broke the long jump record with a leap of 24-11.25 for the men. From the women's team,
Emma Slade has broken her own discus record twice this season, now with a top toss of 163-11, while
Katie Linenberger broke the outdoor high jump record with a clearance of 5-10 last week in Hays.

The Tiger women placed seventh at the MIAA outdoor meet last season and claimed four All-MIAA honors, including one conference championship, while the men finished eighth and earned one All-MIAA honor.
