Ines Steeman and
Janae Montoya of the Fort Hays State Tennis team received CSC Academic All-District honors for 2025-26 on Tuesday (May 12). To be considered for Academic All-District in tennis, an individual must at least a sophomore, hold a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, and must be in the lineup for 70 percent of total matches played by the team in a season. This is the first CSC Academic All-District honor for both.
Steeman put together a singles record of 12-7 overall for the 2025-26 season, her final year with FHSU. She was 9-7 in dual action for singles, producing seven of her wins at the No. 5 position and three at the No. 6 position. In doubles action, she had a winning record with both of her doubles partners for the season, going 7-7 with
Janae Montoya and 3-0 with
Bethan Gill, good for a 10-6 mark in doubles play. Steeman finished the year with 22 total wins. Steeman is a Communication major at FHSU with a cumulative GPA of 3.97.

Montoya won seven matches in singles play for the 2025-26 season and was part of the lineup for all 19 dual matchups for the Tigers this season. Her wins in duals were at either the No. 4 or No. 5 positions. She had a record of 9-9 in doubles action, partnering with
Ines Steeman and
Molly Gaddis. She was 7-7 with Steeman and 2-2 with Gaddis. Montoya collected a total of 16 wins for the season. As an English major, Montoya holds a 4.00 cumulative GPA at FHSU.
