Women Finish Sixth at MIAA Outdoor Meet; Two Runner-Ups Sunday

PITTSBURG, Kan. - The 24th-ranked Fort Hays State women's track and field team finished in a tie for sixth place at the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Championships Sunday (May 3), adding two All-MIAA performances and breaking one school record on the final day of competition. The Tigers finished the week with 61.5 team points, one champion, three All-MIAA performers and seven national-qualifying marks.
 
Annabeth Baalmann broke her own school record in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 14-1 on her second attempt, collecting eight team points. She tied for the top clearance on the day but finished in second place on a tiebreaker. The senior is now tied for first in Division II this season.
 
Reba Mader also finished runner-up in the 400m hurdles, shaving nearly a full second off her preliminary time to cross the line in 1:00.88. The senior earned eight team points, while Breanna Wells added two with a seventh-place finish after turning in a time of 1:04.24.
 
Taylor Hoskinson finished fifth in the 1,500m run, crossing the line in 4:43.53 to collect four team points. She also ran in the 800m finals, finishing seventh with a time of 2:16.40 to earn two team points.
 
Amelia Foster placed seventh in the 100m finals after crossing the line in 11.92, collecting two team points.
 
Jayme Hagerman tallied one team point in the triple jump, finishing eighth with a top clearance of 38-0.25.
 
Donna Jackson also finished in eighth place in the 100m hurdles finals, completing the race in 14.83 to earn one team point.
 
Both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams finished sixth, earning three points each. Ellie Harper, Hailey Brown, Amelia Foster and Donna Jackson combined for a time of 46.67 in the shorter of the two races, while Reba Mader, Hailey Brown, Kendra Blaylock and Amelia Foster turned in a time of 3:52.23 in the final event of the day.
 
The Tigers will head to Kearney, Neb. for the last chance weekend next Saturday (May 9) before heading to Emporia, Kan. for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships May 21-23.
