KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fort Hays State's Annie Eaton has been named the latest MIAA Setter of the Week, announced Monday (Sept. 28) by the league office. The sophomore setter put together a huge week at home, averaging 13.1 assists and 3.4 digs per set while adding eight kills, seven blocks and three service aces against Pittsburg State and No. 17 Emporia State.
 
The Quincy, Ill. native tossed up 70 assists in Friday night's win over the Gorillas, the most by any setter across all levels of NCAA volleyball this season. It is just the 10th 70-assist performance by a Division II student-athlete since 2020, is the most by an MIAA athlete since 2018 and is the second-best single-match effort by a Tiger during the rally scoring era. Her efforts helped the Tigers rack up 85 kills in the victory, the most by an NCAA team across all divisions this season and one of just five performances with 80-plus kills in all NCAA volleyball this year.
 
She added 16 digs, six kills and three blocks against the Gorillas before tallying 48 assists, 15 digs, two kills and four blocks against the Hornets on Saturday.
 
Eaton is the first Tiger to earn a weekly award from the conference since 2023 (Emily Ellis, 9/11/23) and the first setter to do so in nearly a decade (Hannah Wagy, 10/3/16).
 
Fort Hays State will continue a five-match homestand with a trio of matches this week beginning Tuesday (Sept. 29, 6 p.m.) against Kansas Wesleyan. The Tigers will then host Arkansas-Fort Smith on Friday (Oct. 2, 6 p.m.) and Northeastern State on Saturday (Oct. 3, 2 p.m.) over Homecoming weekend.
