The Fort Hays State volleyball team will take a break from conference play Tuesday (Sept. 29) when the Tigers host Kansas Wesleyan, with the first serve slated for 6 p.m.
 
The Tigers enter the weekend 11-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while the Coyotes are 10-6 on the year and 1-1 in KCAC action.

MIAA Athlete of the Week
- Annie Eaton was named the latest MIAA Setter of the Week after averaging 13.1 assists and 3.4 digs per set last week, including a massive outing with 70 assists against Pittsburg State.
- That total is the most by any setter across all levels of NCAA volleyball this season, is just the 10th 70-assist performance by a Division II student-athlete since 2020, is the most by an MIAA athlete since 2018 and is the second-best single-match effort by a Tiger during the rally scoring era.
- Her efforts helped the Tigers rack up 85 kills in the victory, the most by an NCAA team across all divisions this season and one of just five performances with 80-plus kills in all NCAA volleyball this year.
- Eaton is the first Tiger to earn a weekly award from the conference since 2023 (Emily Ellis, 9/11/23) and the first setter to do so in nearly a decade (Hannah Wagy, 10/3/16).

Top 10 in the Nation
- The Tiger offense heads into the weekend ranked second out of 283 Division II programs with 882 kills and 825 assists. FHSU leads the conference in each category.
- The Tigers are eighth nationally and second in the conference with an average of 14.23 kills per frame while FHSU is second in the MIAA and ninth in DII with an average of 13.31 assists per stanza.
 
On the Prowl
- Fort Hays State totaled 85 kills in its win over Pittsburg State, more than any other NCAA volleyball team this season and one of just five outings with 80-plus kills in across all levels of NCAA this year.
- That total is second-most at FHSU during the rally-scoring era (since 2001) and the most in a match by the Tigers since 2003.
 
Swinging for the Fences
After going 10 years without an attack percentage over .400 against a DII opponent, the Tigers reached that threshold twice in the first two weeks of this season. FHSU posted an attack percentage of .442 against Midwestern State at home and later added a swing rate of .425 against Sul Ross State in Grand Junction, Colo.
- The Tigers have hit .300 or better five times and have 10 performances of .250 or better.

Balanced Offensive Attack
- Four Tigers average at least two kills per set, with four more averaging more than one kill per frame.
- Mylie Brown leads the team and ranks 13th in the conference with an average of 2.98 kills per frame.
- Ella Goodwin now averages 2.90 kills per frame after totaling 22 in the win over Pittsburg State, fourth-most by an MIAA hitter in a match this season. Her average ranks 15th in the association.
- Peyton Bergschneider ranks 17th in the league with an average of 2.81 kills per set
- Ashlyn Reeves is fourth on the team with an average of 2.49 kills per set.

Conference Top 10
- Reeves ranks third in the conference and 36th in Division II with a hitting percentage of .379, while her 1.04 blocks per set are ninth-most in the league.
- Haylee Wolf is eighth in the conference with an average of 4.51 digs per frame.
- Eaton averages 8.65 assists per frame, fifth-most in the association, while ranking seventh in the league with 22 service aces on the year.

Looking Ahead
FHSU will celebrate Homecoming by hosting Arkansas-Fort Smith on Friday (Oct. 2, 6 p.m.) and Northeastern State on Saturday (Oct. 3, 2 p.m.) before playing six of its next seven matches on the road.
