Damon Burroughs begins his first season as graduate assistant coach for the Fort Hays State baseball team in 2026.
Burroughs was a two-time All-GAC selection at Southeastern Oklahoma State, earning honorable mention recognition as a senior in 2024 after claiming second-team status as a junior in 2023. The designated hitter played in 118 games across three seasons, recording a slash line of .361/.470/.599 with 137 hits, 21 doubles, 15 triples, 13 home runs, 105 runs, 99 RBI and 54 stolen bases.
The Pryor, Okla. native began his collegiate career playing for Justin Wichert at Trinidad State in 2020, where he totaled 21 hits in 18 games, batting .438 with 16 runs and 11 RBI. He then played at Allen CC in 2021, batting .336 in 44 games while accumulating 22 extra-base hits, 41 runs and 39 RBI.
Upon graduation, Burroughs spent one season playing semi-professional ball in the Pecos league, batting .389 in 40 games with seven home runs and 41 RBI.
