Makenzie Weinman has been named Athlete of the Week for her performance with the Fort Hays State volleyball team. The Tigers went 4-0, including two MIAA wins over the weekend. The Tigers are now 22-8 overall and 6-5 in the MIAA. FHSU defeated York College twice on Tuesday in Hays then defeated Missouri Southern (3-0) and Southwest Baptist (3-1) on the road on Friday and Saturday.
 
Weinman totaled double digits in digs in three of the four matches. She started the week with 18 digs in the straight set win over York College. In the 3-0 victory over MSSU, Weinman dug up 13 balls and added four assists and one ace. Makenzie had her best match of the weekend against SBU, totaling 21 digs, one ace and one assist.
 
During the 4-0 week, Weinman led the Tigers with 53 digs and 4.82 digs per set. She was perfect on service reception on 29 receptions for a 1.000 percentage. She also had three service aces in the four matches and 10 assists.
 
The Tigers return home for two MIAA matches this weekend. FHSU takes on Pittsburg State and Central Oklahoma on Saturday and Sunday.
