Carson Konrade has been named Athlete of the Week for his performance for the Fort Hays State men's basketball team. The Tigers defeated Central Christian, 94-39, on Wednesday (Nov. 28) to up their record to 3-2 this season.
Konrade, a junior guard from Spearville, Kan., scored a game-high 21 points in the win. Konrade made more than half of the Tigers' 3-pointers, going 5-for-5 from behind the arc. He was 7-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. His season-high 21 points came in only 18 minutes. He added three rebounds and one block in the game.
On the season, Konrade is averaging 9.0 ppg and 2.2 rpg. He is shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from 3-point range.
The Tigers are 3-2 this season. FHSU starts MIAA play this wednesday (Nov. 5) with a 7:30 p.m. game against Central Missouri at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
