In her first game as a Tiger, Melissa Nelson dropped a team-high 25 points against Division I Kansas in exhibition play. Nelson was 7-16 from the field, 4-8 from behind the three point line, and 7-9 from the free throw line. She also added a team-high six rebounds.

Nelson, a junior from Holton, Kan., is in her first year with the Tigers after transferring from Johnson County (Kan.) Community College.
