Fort Hays State's Rodrigo Alves turned in the best performance of the weekend for the Tigers at the Shocker Prelude on Friday (Jan. 16), hosted by Wichita State University, notching a provisional qualifying time in the 60-meter dash.

Alves ran a time of 6.94 seconds in the prelims, but was a bit faster in the finals with a time of 6.89 seconds. That allowed him to finish in third place overall among 14 athletes competing in the finals of the event.
