Alex Hendee earned Athlete of the Week honors for his performance on Saturday at the FHSU Tiger Open. The junior from Roeland Park, Kan. finished fourth overall with a time of 24:50 in the 8k event. The time was one minute faster than Hendee's next fastest 8k performance this season.

Hendee used an impressive kick to pick off a few runners before the finish line.

The Tigers cross country team finished fifth at the FHSU Open. Hendee and his teammate will now prepare for the MIAA Championships on Oct. 22 in Joplin, Mo.
