Cindy Benitez earned Athlete of the Week honors after leading the women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Missouri Western on Saturday. Playing in her only game of the week, the junior tallied two goals and two assists, including the game winning goal. Benitez played a part in all four of the Tiger goals.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for FHSU and upped their record to 5-10-1 in their first season. The Tigers finished 2-6 in the MIAA and still have a chance to make the MIAA Tournament. FHSU finishes the regular season with two home games this week against Northeastern State and Washburn.

After her strong performance, Benitez leads the team in points with 18 and assists with six. She is second in goals with six, two behind leading scorer Joanne Glynn.
