In the midst of a three-game conference road trip, the Fort Hays State women's basketball team will travel to Missouri Western on Saturday (Dec. 11) to try and claim their first road victory of the year. FHSU is 0-2 on the road so far this year, with losses at Washburn and Newman. The Lady Tigers enter the game 5-2 overall, and 2-1 in the MIAA.

Kimber Weiser has been a bright spot for the Lady Tigers' offense recently. She has scored in double figures in each of the last five games and is currently the team's leading scorer, averaging 11.6 points per game.
Rhys Pihl is the second leading scorer for FHSU, averaging 9.7 points per game. Both Weiser and Pihl have come off the bench all season to be the teams top scorers.
Kara Champlin is the leading rebounder for FHSU, averaging 5.3 per game. Champlin joined the starting lineup for the Tigers two games ago and responded with a career-high 15 points against Nebraska-Omaha. She is also the third-leading scorer on the team at 8.2 points per game.
Janel Durler leads the team and is second in the MIAA in blocked shots with 18 (2.6/game). She has blocked a shot in every game this year and has blocked two or more in five of the seven games.
The Griffons enter the game 3-3, but are 1-2 in MIAA play. They boast the MIAA's second leading scorer in Jessica Koch who averages 18.5 points per game. Missouri Western is also 2-0 in home games so far this year.
Following the contest, Fort Hays State has a week off before they visit Northwest Missouri State on Saturday (Dec. 18). That game will be Lady Tigers final game of the calendar year.
