Box Score 2 The Fort Hays State softball team won a pair of non-conference games on Wednesday (Mar. 30) against Oklahoma-Panhandle State in Hays by scores of 4-2 and 8-3. The wins push the Tigers' record to 14-12 on the season.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the first game with a pair of runs in the fourth.
Erin Dyok had an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from
Kayla Rupa.
Panhandle State countered with two runs in the fifth to tie the game. After an RBI double, a muffed throw on the infield allowed another run to cross the plate. A second runner tried to score on the play but was gunned down on a throw to the plate from right fielder
Callie Wright.
Fort Hays State took advantage of Panhandle State's only errors of the game in the sixth after a pair of singles to open the inning. With the bases loaded,
Britney Workman knocked in two runs with a single to right field.
Kayla Rupa pitched a complete game to move to 8-8 on the season. She allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk. She struck out three.
Game 2: FHSU 8, Panhandle State 3

The Tigers fell behind 2-0 after three innings, but rallied for two in the fourth, three in the fifth, and three in the sixth to eventually take the game 8-3.
Adriana Wortley got the scoring underway for FHSU in the fourth with an RBI grounder that resulted in an error. She later scored on a
Britney Workman RBI single to tie the game.
A dropped throw by Panhandle State in the fifth led to three runs and the lead for FHSU.
Maddie Holub had an RBI groundout to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead, then
Malinee Powell hit her team-leading fourth home run of the season (a two-run shot) to give FHSU a three-run cushion.
After the Tigers weathered an OPSU rally in the sixth, allowing just one run,
Sara Tani pushed the FHSU lead to four with a two-RBI double in the bottom half of the inning. She later scored from third on a wild pitch.
Maddie Holub moved to 6-4 on the season with the complete game win. She allowed eight hits, walked three, and struck out four. All three runs she allowed were earned.
