Game 1: FHSU 2, Central Missouri 0
Box Score
The Tigers took the first of a pair of pitcher's duels on the afternoon. Both teams were scoreless through six innings with Megan Schallom of Central Missouri and
Maddie Holub of Fort Hays State squaring off in the pitcher's circle.
The Tigers finally broke through against Schallom in the seventh. A leadoff walk by
Kayla Rupa followed by a double from
Adriana Wortley put runners at second and third with no outs. After a grounder back to the pitcher produced the first out,
Sara Tani pushed the first run across on a fielder's choice on the infield.
Erin Dyok added to the lead with a sacrifice fly RBI to push the FHSU lead to 2-0.
That was all Holub needed as she worked around an error and a double in the bottom of the seventh to preserve the shutout. She struck out the final batter of the game with runners at second and third. She moved to 9-7 with the win, allowing seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
Game 2: Central Missouri 2, FHSU 0

Runs and hits were hard to come by in the second game for both teams. The Mules took a 1-0 lead in the third on a passed ball, then got their second run in the fifth on an RBI double.
The Tigers could not solve Sarah Espy, who allowed just two hits in the complete game shutout for the Mules. She walked six batters and hit a batter, but the Tigers could not find a way to push a run across leaving eight runners on base. Espy struck out four batters.
Kayla Rupa had another solid outing where she took the tough luck loss. She allowed just three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. Only one of the runs she allowed was earned. She dropped to 12-12 on the season.
