Fort Hays State men's track and field had two individual champions at the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 21), hosted by Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.
Alex Hendee won the 1 mile run, while
Bryant Bombardier placed first in the high jump.
Hendee, last week's MIAA Track Student-Athlete of the Week, took the 1 mine run with a time of 4:28 to beat Patrich Bravo by almost a second. Edward Limo of Colby CC finished third with
Isaac Mills of FHSU in fourth, timing a 4:33 in the event.
Bombardier, a sophomore from Hays, Kan., was part of a Fort Hays team that took first, second and third in the high jump. Bombardier was followed by
Sawyer Sutterfield, who went 6 feet, 5 inches, and
Jordan Carlisle, who cleared 6 feet, 3.25 inches.
Mark Riordan finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 44 feet, 3.5 inches, while
Cory Keehn placed third in the 1000 meter run, timing a 2:33
The Tigers return to action on Friday (Jan. 27) in the Kansas Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence, Kan.
