Outdoor Track and Field Collects Seven All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State men's and women's track and field team earned seven All-Region honors during the 2026 outdoor season, announced Wednesday (May 13) by the USTFCCCA. Six student-athletes earned the distinction, with Emily Diercks McCullough claiming the honor in two disciplines.

FHSU's All-Region selections include Hunter Angove and Annabeth Baalmann in the pole vault, Dean Clark in the long jump, Katie Linenberger in the high jump, McCullough in both the 5,000m and the 10,000m and Drew Tolar in the decathlon.

Additionally, both Baalmann (PV) and McCullough (10,000m) were recognized as top regional performers this season. The top five individuals in each event from each region earn All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams.

McCullough is now a seven-time All-Region honoree, including two cross country honors, two indoor honors and three outdoor honors. The Hoxie, Kan. native raked in an astounding five All-Region awards this season, doing so in cross country, the indoor 3,000m and 5,000m and the outdoor 5,000m and 10,000m. The three-time All-American ran the 5K in 17:05.09 while posting a top time of 34:52.18 in the 10K this season. She will compete in the 10,000m at the outdoor national championships next Thursday (May 21) at 8:50 p.m.

This is Baalmann's fifth All-Region award and it is the second-straight season she received the honor both indoors and outdoors. The senior matched her own outdoor school record at the MIAA Championships with a clearance of 14-0.5, tied for the best mark in Division II this season. The four-time All-American from Colwich, Kan. will compete in her sixth national championship next Thursday beginning at 3 p.m.

Linenberger collected her second All-Region award of the season after clearing an outdoor school record 5-10 last month, fourth-best in DII this season. The Hays freshman will compete in her second national championship next Saturday (May 23) at 3:15 p.m.

Clark also broke a school record this season, doing so in the long jump with a clearance of 24-11.25 to collect his first All-Region honor. The junior from Norton, Kan. will compete at the outdoor national meet on Thursday beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Tolar earned his first All-Region honor after collecting 7,096 points in the decathlon, seventh-best in Division II this season. The Cheney, Kan. native is just the second Tiger in program history to eclipse 7,000 points across the 10 events. The sophomore will compete in five disciplines both Thursday and Friday at the outdoor national meet, with action set to begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Angove collected his first All-Region recognition as a Tiger after clearing 17-3.5 this season, second-best at FHSU during the DII era. That clearance is tied for 10th-best in Division II this season. The Bandon, Ore. senior will compete for a national title on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.

All six all-region selections, alongside five other Tigers, will compete at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships next week (May 21-23) in Emporia, Kan.
