KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams placed 46 student-athletes on the 2026 MIAA Academic Honor Roll, announced Wednesday (June 10) by the conference office. The men had 26 student-athletes recognized, while the women were represented by 20 individuals.

Nine individuals picked up additional honors, including three MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award recipients and six that earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award.

Kyra Nippert all took home the MIAA Academic Excellence Award for continuing to maintain a perfect 4.00 GPA.

Emily Diercks McCullough and
Reba Mader all received the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award, given to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.50 or higher that earned All-MIAA honors that season. It is the sixth-such honor for McCullough, the second for Mader and the first for Ball.

An MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. The student-athlete must also earn All-MIAA honors during the current season.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

First-year student-athletes, including transfers and true freshmen, will be recognized at the conclusion of the school year when they meet the two terms of attendance requirement.
