The Fort Hays State softball team is headed to the Midwestern State Invitational this weekend in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Tigers will play five games in three days, starting with Texas A&M-International and Arkansas Tech on Friday (Feb. 17).

On Saturday, the Tigers will face Abilene Christian and MIAA-foe Missouri Southern before ending with tournament host and No. 20-ranked Midwestern State on Sunday.
Fort Hays State is off to a 2-0 start to the 2012 season after knocking off Nebraska-Kearney in both games of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Maddie Holub and
Taylor Nelson both have a batting average of .600 to lead the team so far, while Holub and
Amanda Vaupel each have three RBI.
Holub pitched a one-hitter in the first game and struck out a Fort Hays State single-game record 16 batters as the Tigers won 4-0.
Kaitlyn Shattleroe relieved
Abby Morrison in the second game and did not give up a hit in the final two innings and got the win after FHSU scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
