Fort Hays State University improves to 6-1 (1-1 MIAA) after shooting 39.7 percent from the field, and 70.4 percent from the charity stripe. MWSU (4-3, 0-1 MIAA) dropped its third straight as the Tiger defense held the Lady Griffons' to just 26.4 percent on field goals.Â
Saturday's win was head coach
Tony Hobson's 500th career victory. Â He is the first coach to reach the milestone while coaching as a Tiger, and is now 500-166 for his career. Â While pacing the Tiger sideline, Hobson is 87-60.

Additionally, the Tiger defense grabbed seven steals and had eight blocks in the game.

FHSU started the contest on an 11-2 run and never looked back. Behind
Kate Lehman's fourth straight double-double in points and rebounds (24 and 12), the Tigers led by as many as 22 in the game.

Lehman just missed a triple-double for the third time this season, as her eight blocks led the squad as well.

Tera Ingalsbe finished with 10 points on the afternoon as the Tigers only other double-digit scorer.

Ahead by 17 at the half (38-21), the Tigers and Lady Griffons played even until the 15:20 mark of the second frame, when a jumper by
Jill Faxon sparked an 11-2 burst for the Tigers to put the game out of reach, at 49-28.
