Fort Hays State senior Max Alonso has been named the MIAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, February 5 for his efforts at the Charlie Foster Classic in Kearney, Neb. this past weekend.

Alonso won the shot put at the Charlie Foster Classic on Friday (Feb. 1). His throw of 57-feet, 8.25-inches improved a little over a foot on his NCAA provisional mark and he continues to rank fifth on the Division II National Performance List. The throw is the best effort among MIAA athletes this season.
