The 14th-ranked Fort Hays State softball team hosts Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State in a pair of MIAA doubleheaders this weekend in Hays. FHSU takes on Missouri Southern on Friday at 3 pm, then returns on Saturday to take on Pittsburg State at 1 pm. The Lions and Gorillas are practically identical in record. Missouri Southern enters the doubleheader at 19-19 overall and 6-10 in the MIAA, while Pittsburg State enters its weekend at 18-18 overall and 6-10 in the MIAA.
The Tigers enter the weekend on a school record 11-game win streak, which eclipsed a record of nine that the team set earlier in the season. Fort Hays State has won 20 of its last 22 games. In that run, the Tigers grabbed their first-ever NCAA national ranking in the program's 15-year history. A ranking of 11th from March 20 to 26 was the highest ranking the Tigers have held this season.
