The 18th-ranked Fort Hays State softball team heads east this Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 20-21) for a pair of MIAA doubleheaders. Fort Hays State plays at Southwest Baptist on Saturday at 12 pm, then at Central Missouri on Sunday at 12 pm. Fort Hays State is 35-7 overall and 15-3 in the MIAA.

The doubleheader at Central Missouri was originally scheduled for Friday, but it has moved to Sunday due to rain.

The Tigers go into the weekend in second place in the conference standings, looking to stay within striking distance of Central Oklahoma for the MIAA regular season title. FHSU is currently two games back of UCO. Central Oklahoma is also on the road this weekend to play doubleheaders at Lindenwood and Truman. The Bronchos are 33-7 overall and 17-1 in the MIAA. Missouri Western is currently in third, two games back of the Tigers and Emporia State is in fourth, three games back of FHSU in the loss column.
