HAYS, Kan. - After a successful opening weekend against a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents, the Fort Hays State women's basketball team will head to the great white north for two more regional matchups this weekend as a part of the Huskies Classic in St. Cloud, Minn. The Tigers open the weekend against tournament host St. Cloud State at 6 p.m. Friday (Nov. 18) before facing off with Bemidji State in a neutral site affair at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon (Nov. 19).

The Tigers head into the weekend with a perfect 2-0 record, while the Huskies are 1-1 on the year. The Beavers won their only game last weekend against NAIA member Mayville State. SCSU and BSU will also play Northland College this weekend, an NCAA Division III school located in Ashland, Wisc.

Fort Hays State is tied for first in the country with nine blocks per game (through games played Wednesday). They also rank sixth with 17 steals each night. Junior
Emma Stroyan ranks third in the country with four blocks per game and is tied for first in all Division II with an 83.3 field goal percentage.

The Tigers beat St. Cloud State early in the season last year in the first-ever meeting between the schools, 52-44. It was FHSU's lowest scoring output all last season.

FHSU is 2-1 all-time against Bemidji State, including a 71-65 victory in the most recent meeting (11/14/14). All three meetings with the Beavers have come on neutral floors.

Jill Faxon has had success against each of this weekend's opponents, scoring 21 points in her only meeting with both teams. In fact, the guard averages 14.1 points per game against schools based in Minnesota (seven games).

Taylor Rolfs dropping in 11 points per night last weekend.
Tatyana Legette posted her first career double-double in the season opener last Friday, averaging 8.5 assists and 8.0 points per game last year.
Nikola Kacperska leads the team with 5 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
