Softball Plays Four Games in Minnesota This Weekend

Fort Hays State Softball plays in the Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament, hosted by St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn., this weekend (Feb. 23-25) at the Husky Dome. The Tigers are scheduled to play four games over the weekend, one Friday, one Saturday, and two Sunday. FHSU enters play at 2-10 overall.

FHSU vs. Augustana, 7:30 pm Friday (Feb. 23)
Fort Hays State meets Augustana for the fourth consecutive season in its first game of the tournament. Augustana won a neutral site game last year by a count of 8-0. The Vikings have a 4-2 lead in the all-time series. Fort Hays State's last win over Augustana was in 2015 by a score of 5-1. The Vikings enter the tournament at 2-4 overall.
 
FHSU vs. Sioux Falls, 3:30 pm Saturday (Feb. 24)
This is just the second meeting with Sioux Falls in program history, with the inaugural meeting last year at a neutral site. Sioux Falls took that game by a score of 8-1. Sioux Falls begins its season this weekend.
 
FHSU vs. Minnesota State, 7 am Sunday (Feb. 25)
The Tigers get to take on the No. 1 ranked team in the nation to open play on Sunday. Minnesota State was last year's national champion and is 6-0 so far this year. The Mavericks will play one game on Saturday against Nebraska-Kearney before meeting the Tigers on Sunday morning. The Mavericks lead the all-time series 3-2 and won the last two meetings with the Tigers.
 
FHSU vs. St. Cloud State, 11 am Sunday (Feb. 25)
Fort Hays State plays tournament host St. Cloud State in its final game of the tournament. The teams have split the first two meetings all time, with FHSU taking the latter by a score of 3-2 in 2016. St. Cloud State enters its only game on Saturday at 7-1 overall.
