Tiger Softball returns to action on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 28) at home when it faces Wayne State (Neb.) in a doubleheader starting at 2 pm at Tiger Stadium in Hays. Fort Hays State enters the contests at 2-14 overall, while Wayne State is 1-2 overall.
The Tigers are looking to snap a nine-game skid as their last win occurred on February 10 against St. Edward's. Wayne State has just three games under its belt so far this year, all played in Hays in the FHSU Crossover Tournament a week and a half ago. Wayne State's only win was against FHSU, a 7-6 decision in nine innings at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex.
The Tigers have four players hitting over .300 so far this year, led by
Candace Bollig at .340.
Hailey Chapman has the top ERA in the pitching circle so far at 5.13, but she is still in search of her first winning decision of the season.
