NEW ORLEANS – After a strong 2017-18 season, the Fort Hays State track and field program saw 15 athletes, including seven women and eight men, earn United States Track and Field/Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors. Additionally, both the men's and women's squads earned team academic honors.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic status, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.

On the men's side, 746 NCAA Division II athletes earned the nod, with the Tigers being represented by

Lucas Broxterman,
Oscar Carmona,
Kyle Comstock,
TJ Dozier,
Sam Dreiling,
Jacob Gaughan and
Jake Morrow. For the women,
Grace Buessing,
Alexcia Deutscher,
Courtney Geiger, Bree Hyshaw,
Madison Wolf and
Kelly Wycoff were among 758 student-athletes to capture the recognition.

To earn the team academic distinction, a program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Tiger men accumulated a 3.14 GPA, while the women amassed a 3.44 to earn the honor. For the men, 214 NCAA Division II programs earned the team honor, with 216 for the women.
