The Tigers extended their best start in program history Thursday, moving to 12-0 overall and 3-0 in MIAA play after knocking off No. 15 Central Missouri on the road, 56-46. It was the first time the Jennies were held below 50 points since March 2017. The win was head coach
Tony Hobson's 217th victory as a Tiger, tying him for the most coaching victories in program history (Helen Miles). Hobson can become the all-time wins leader at FHSU with a win Saturday.

The Tigers lead the all-time series with SBU 14-7, including a five-game winning streak and wins in 11 of the last 12 contests. FHSU is 4-6 all-time in Bolivar, but the Tigers have won two-straight on the road in each of the last two seasons. The Tigers are 13-4 against the Bearcats under Hobson, including a 4-4 mark on the road.

Southwest Baptist enters the weekend 4-8 overall, including a record of 1-7 against DII opponents. The Bearcats led Nebraska-Kearney by as many as 13 in the first half before falling at home, 74-70. The SBU offense ranks second in the MIAA in scoring output, averaging 78.3 points per contest. However, the defense has allowed the most points per night in the league, allowing 72.2 points each game. Despite missing the first seven games of the season, Caylee Richardson leads the Bearcats with 14.2 points per contest. Four other players average at least 9.8 points per contest, including Morgan Henderson who puts up 12.8 points each night while averaging a team-best 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per outing.
