Fort Hays State Softball gets the 2019 season underway on Saturday (Feb. 9) in Bentonville, Arkansas with a pair of games, then travels to Edmond, Oklahoma for one more contest on Sunday (Feb. 10). FHSU takes on Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech on Saturday, then Colorado Christian on Sunday.

The Tigers are coming off a 13-37 season and this year's team has no seniors. Eight of the 15 members of the roster are juniors this year, while five are sophomores. A youthful squad that gained experience in 2017 looks to move the program back in a winning direction under fifth-year head coach
Adrian Pilkington.
Â
It has been three years since FHSU last met Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech. In 2016, FHSU fell to UAM 3-1 and then fell to ATU 7-5 in Bentonville, Arkansas, where the teams will meet once again on Saturday. FHSU takes on UAM at 1 pm and ATU at 3 pm. (Start times pushed back an hour as of 8:30 am Saturday).
Â
With inclement weather forecasted for Sunday, the second day of games in Bentonville were canceled. In adjustment to the change, FHSU picked up a game with Colorado Christian at the UCO Softball Festival in Edmond, Oklahoma on Sunday at 10 am. FHSU met CCU last year in a doubleheader in Lakewood, Colorado, which CCU swept.
