Tiger Notes
-FHSU is 3-1 at home so far this season. Last weekend, FHSU swept Pittsburg State and split with Missouri Southern in Hays.
-The Tigers have held opponents to two or less runs in eight of their last 12 games, a stretch in which the Tigers posted an 8-4 record.
-Megan Jamison (4 innings) and Michaelanne Nelson (3 innings) threw Fort Hays State's first combined shutout of the season back on Tuesday at MSU Denver.
-All FHSU pitchers now hold an ERA of 3.50 or lower on the season.
-Grace Philop leads FHSU with a .372 batting average. She has recorded at least two hits in five of the last eight games.
-Sara Breckbill is the team leader in RBIs with 18. Grace Philop (13) and Loren Beggs (10) have also reached double figures for RBIs on the season.
-Fort Hays State owns the second-best team ERA in the MIAA at 2.34, only topped by Rogers State at 2.26.
-Michaelanne Nelson leads the MIAA in ERA at 1.45 and ranks third in strikeouts (78) and opponent batting average (.210).
-All three Tigers pitchers that have received decisions this season are level in wins and losses.

Opponent Notes
-This doubleheader marks the 75th and 76th meetings between FHSU and UNK in softball during the NCAA Division II era. Fort Hays State holds a slight 38-36 advantage in the all-time series. UNK won the last two meetings between the teams in Kearney in 2019. The teams did not play each other last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
-After splitting its first MIAA doubleheader of the season with Lincoln, Nebraska-Kearney has lost its last 10 conference games, swept by Central Missouri, Emporia State, Washburn, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. However, three of their last 10 conference losses were by just one run. UNK also lost a game by one run in its split with Lincoln, so four of the 11 conference losses for the Lopers have been by one run.
-Carlie Liesch (.377) and Abbie Vodicka (.360) lead the Lopers in hitting this season, combining for 35 percent of the team's hits this season.
