Third-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball continues a three-game homestand Saturday (Jan. 8) when the Tigers host Lincoln. First tip in the women's-only contest is set for 2 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.

Saturday's men's game was postponed due to COVID-19 complications within the Lincoln program. A make-up date for that contest is to be determined.

The squads head into Saturday in two vastly different fashions, with FHSU (12-1, 6-1 MIAA) coming off five-straight wins and Lincoln (4-9, 0-7 MIAA) looking to snap a seven-game losing skid.

The Tigers have played particularly well of late, beating their last four opponents by an average of 37 points. For the year the Tigers have produced a scoring margin of plus-17.2, 19th-best in the country. Tony Hobson's squad has hit at least 45 percent from the floor in four of the five games over the current winning streak. The Tigers are 119-4 when hitting at least 45 percent from the floor during the Hobson era.

Fort Hays State takes care of the ball with the best of them, ranking second in Division II with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.39. The Tigers are 11th in assists per game (17.2) and 14th in turnovers per game (12.4).

Four players average in double figures in their career against Lincoln, including Jaden Hobbs (16.0 ppg, 3 games), Whitney Randall (13.8 ppg, 5 games), Olivia Hollenbeck (12.0 ppg, 2 games) and Jessie Sallach (11.5 ppg, 2 games).

Now 15th on the all-time scoring list at FHSU, Randall (1,184 career points) is 20 points shy of tying Jill Faxon (2013-17) for 14th at 1,204 points.

Fort Hays State has dominated the battle of the Tigers, winning 12 in a row and 15 of 16 matchups all-time. The lone loss came in overtime in Hays just under 10 years ago. FHSU is 8-1 against the Blue Tigers inside the Coliseum. The entire series has been played during the Hobson era. Fort Hays State won by double figures in all but one game during the current 12-game winning streak.

Lincoln is 4-9 this season, including a 2-5 record in road games. Lincoln ranks second in the MIAA with 13.1 offensive rebounds per night. The Blue Tigers rank 293rd out of 297 ranked teams in DII in 3-point percentage at 37.1 percent. Le'Yanna McGinnis leads the team with 9.8 points per game, with Imani Jones leading the way with 5.0 rebounds per contest.
