Fort Hays State Softball will host Bethany College on Sunday (Mar. 20) in a doubleheader at Tiger Stadium. First pitch is set for 12 pm. The Tigers enter at 11-15 overall, while Bethany goes into its weekend at 7-10 overall.

The Tigers are coming off a non-conference split of its first home doubleheader of the season back on Wednesday with Oklahoma Baptist. The Tigers won the first contest of that twinbill 16-9 before falling 2-0 in a pitcher's duel.

The Tigers have put together a 9-9 record since a 2-6 start to the season. They have played six doubleheaders this season and swept just one so far, that being a neutral site doubleheader with Missouri S&T back on March 4.

Since FHSU Softball started its NCAA Division II history in 1999, the Tigers are 9-0 against Bethany College. The schools last met in 2010, when the Tigers claimed both games of a doubleheader by the scores of 8-1 and 6-1. FHSU scored at least 6 runs in all but one of those previous nine games.

Loren Beggs leads the Tigers with a .391 batting average. She joins
Sara Breckbill as team leaders in extra-base hits (10) and RBIs (15).
Sarah Tiffany is not far behind in average at .373.
Lindsey Kelly has swiped 14 bases on the season already.
Savanah Egger has a 3.10 ERA and leads the team in strikeouts (72) and innings pitched (76.2).
Bailey Carlson holds a 2.78 ERA in 27.2 innings of work.
Morgan Schmidt is coming off her second complete game of the season in the circle and is averaging a strikeout per inning this season.

Bethany takes on Morningside University in a doubleheader Saturday at home before making the trip out to Hays on Sunday.
