Fort Hays State Softball will play its final scheduled non-conference doubleheader of the season on Tuesday (Mar. 29) at Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva. The Tigers enter at 13-17 overall, while the Rangers are 12-16 overall.

The Tigers are 13-13 so far this season in non-conference games. This will be the first meeting with NWOSU since the 2015 season when the teams split a doubleheader in Alva. That was
Adrian Pilkington's first season as head coach at FHSU.

Both
Loren Beggs and
Sarah Tiffany are hitting just a bit north of .350 for the season to lead the Tigers. They have combined for 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
Sara Breckbill leads the team in home runs (6) and RBIs (21).
Savanah Egger and
Bailey Carlson have nearly identical ERAs in the pitching circle, Egger at 3.07 and Carlson at 3.08. Egger has 80 strikeouts in 84.1 innings of work.
Morgan Schmidt continues to strikeout more than one batter per inning with 48 in 43 innings.

The Rangers won one of three games in their most recent Great American Conference series at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas this past weekend. The Rangers have a team batting average of .302, which is second best in the GAC, but their 5.64 team ERA ranks second-to-last in their conference.
