Fort Hays State Softball hosts conference action for the second-straight weekend at Fleharty Family Field, April 12-13. The Tigers play host to Lincoln and Central Missouri this week as they continue to battle for better position in the MIAA standings for potential postseason play.

Three weekends remain in MIAA play for the Tigers. The top 10 teams in the MIAA standings will make the MIAA Tournament this year, which will be using a single-elimination format. The Tigers currently sit in a tie for 10
th in the MIAA standings with Newman.

Lincoln has won a game in each of the last three weekends of conference play. They went 1-3 each of those weekends, with the wins coming against unranked opponents (Emporia State, Northeastern State, and Newman). The Blue Tigers faced nationally ranked teams each of those weekends and were swept by each of those teams (Washburn, Rogers State, and Central Oklahoma). Lincoln enters the week at 11-25 overall and 3-15 in the MIAA.

Central Missouri went 3-1 in conference play last weekend at home, earning a split with top-10 ranked Central Oklahoma and a sweep of Newman. The results helped UCM move north of the .500 mark overall, now at 20-19 on the season. UCM is 3-5 in MIAA road games so far this season, but one of those wins was over a top-10 ranked opponent in Rogers State. The Jennies enter the week 9-9 in MIAA play and will play at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday before coming to Hays on Saturday.

Lincoln Series Notes
Series Record: FHSU leads 26-2
-FHSU owns a 12-game win streak against Lincoln, which goes back to the 2018 season.
-FHSU's only two losses were in a conference doubleheader between the teams in 2017 in St. Charles, Mo. at a neutral site. Lincoln has never defeated FHSU in either Hays or Jefferson City.
-FHSU is 14-0 all-time against Lincoln in Hays.
-FHSU won both games of last year's doubleheader by scores of 4-0 and 7-6 in Jefferson City.
-FHSU swept the last doubleheader between the teams in Hays, both by scores of 8-0 during the 2022 season. Both of those contests ended by run-rule in six innings.

Sarah Tiffany each had 2-RBI extra-base hits in the 4-0 win in Jefferson City last year.

Savanah Egger threw a complete game shutout against Lincoln in the 4-0 win last year, scattering five hits with two strikeouts.
-FHSU had to rally from a 6-3 deficit through five innings in game two between the teams last year, scoring one in the sixth and three in the seventh to win 7-6. Three-straight doubles to open the seventh tied the game and a
Peyton Shepard RBI later in the seventh allowed FHSU to get past Lincoln.

Peyton Shepard each had 2 RBIs in the Game 2 win last year, which gave Stuke a total of 4 RBIs in the doubleheader with Lincoln last year.

Bailey Carlson picked up the win in game two between the teams last year, throwing 2.2 innings of relief with two strikeouts and just one earned run allowed.Â

Series Record: UCM leads 31-15
-UCM won the last two games between the teams, sweeping a doubleheader in Warrensburg last year by scores of 10-9 and 6-4.
-FHSU won the last two games between the teams in Hays, sweeping a doubleheader in 2022 by scores of 5-3 and 5-1.
