Claremore, Okla. - Diamond Sports Complex

Fort Hays State goes on the road to complete its 2024 regular season this week, facing Northeastern State on Friday (April 26) and Rogers State on Saturday (April 27) in MIAA play. The Tigers are looking to clinch a spot in the 10-team MIAA Tournament, which will be played next week in Edmond, Okla. FHSU enters the week at 24-22 overall, 8-14 in the MIAA. Northeastern State is 8-33 overall and 3-19 in the MIAA, while Rogers State is 36-10 overall and 19-3 in the MIAA. Rogers State will host Nebraska-Kearney on Friday before facing FHSU on Saturday.

Fort Hays State enters the final week of MIAA play alone in 10th in the MIAA standings. The Tigers are two games behind Missouri Southern, Missouri Western, and Central Missouri, all tied for seventh in the standings at 10-12. The Tigers are currently two games clear of Newman and Nebraska-Kearney for the 10th spot, so they are looking for a strong showing this week to lock up a tournament spot.

The MIAA Tournament this year expanded to 10 teams and will be a single-elimination tournament, instead of an eight-team double elimination format it had been for several years in the past. The 7-10 seeds play on the first day of the tournament for a chance to move into the quarterfinal stage of the bracket the next day.
