WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Fort Hays State women's golf team placed 14th at the Midwest Classic this week (Oct. 13-14) at Mules National Golf Course, a par-70, 5,564-yard layout.

The Tigers turned in rounds of 326, 340 and 331.
Alexis Elliott was FHSU's top placer, finishing in a tie for 55th with a three-round total of 238. The sophomore matched her season-low with a 78 in the opening round before improving that season low by two shots with a 76 in the third round.

Hayden York finished two shots behind Elliott, finishing in a tie for 60th with a three-round score of 240. The junior led the team with five birdies on the week after opening the tournament with a career-low 74 in the opening round.

Competing as an individual,
Abbie Norris placed 75th with a total score of 254.
Jaycee Oakley compiled a three-round total of 261, good for 80th place, while
Kiley Maier was one shot back with a total of 262 to finish in a tie for 81st.
Brynn Ray was 87th with a score of 270, while competing as an individual
Ashlyn Koenke finished 88th with a score of 283.

Host Central Missouri took home the team title with a three-round total of 31-over, while Arkansas Tech's Ellen Spigner secured the individual title with a cumulative score of 5-under following rounds of 68, 68 and 69.

The Tigers will be back in action next week (Oct. 20-21) at the Holiday Inn Express Regional Preview at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
