MANHEIM, Pa. – Fort Hays State Women's Wrestling moved up one spot in the latest NWCA National Rankings for NCAA schools on Friday (Dec. 19), now holding the No. 9 ranking as a team. The Tigers have three nationally ranked wrestlers, headlined by
Isabella Renfro still holding the No. 1 ranking nationally at 180.
Leiannah Landreth is still ranked at 117, holding the No. 8 spot, while
Peyton Hellmann makes her debut in the rankings, No. 10 at 138.
The three ranked individuals for Fort Hays State are Renfro (No. 1 at 180),
Dylen Ritchey (No. 8 at 145), and
Leiannah Landreth (No. 10 at 117). Ritchey and Landreth remained in their same positions as the previous poll released by the NWCA.
Renfro continues to dominate, still undefeated on the season at 18-0 overall. She went 5-0 since the last set of rankings when she moved to No. 1 in the nation. Renfro has won all three tournaments she has competed in this year, the Maverick Open, Missouri Valley Open, and FHSU-Bob Smith Open, while going 3-0 in duals so far.
Landreth bumped up a couple of spots in the poll at 117. She was No. 10 in the last set of rankings. She went 4-0 since the last poll, winning the FHSU-Bob Smith Open. She is 12-3 overall for the season.
Hellmann has impressed in her freshman year, also with a 12-3 overall record for the season. She won the Maverick Open early in the season and was second at the FHSU-Bob Smith Open.
Fort Hays State has seen six of its individuals in the national rankings so far this year.
Nichole Moore (138) and
Hailey Conley (207) started the year ranked in their classes in the preseason poll, but Landreth, Ritchey, and Renfro have all been referenced in regular season polls. Hellmann becomes the sixth Tiger to appear in the polls this year.
Fort Hays State has six individuals among the regional rankings for Region 6 of the NCAA. Joining the three individuals mentioned above in the region rankings are
Kennedy Farrar (103),
Morgan Maschmann (124), and
Dylen Ritchey (145).
The latest Open Mat supplemental poll online, which ranks 20 wrestlers in each class, has eight Tigers in the individual rankings. The Tigers as a team are No. 10 in their tournament rankings and No. 11 in their dual rankings. The individuals ranked are
