MANHEIM, Pa. – Fort Hays State moved up three spots in the latest NWCA Top 25 Poll, released on December 4. The Tigers are No. 10 in the latest poll, the second of three so far this season where FHSU has been in the top 10. The Tigers still have three individuals ranked among the top 10 in their respective classes, but the biggest news is
Isabella Renfro has elevated to No. 1 at 180 after a 13-0 start to the year.
The three ranked individuals for Fort Hays State are Renfro (No. 1 at 180),
Dylen Ritchey (No. 8 at 145), and
Leiannah Landreth (No. 10 at 117). Ritchey and Landreth remained in their same positions as the previous poll released by the NWCA.
Renfro gets the honor of being the first FHSU women's wrestler to hold a No. 1 national ranking in a class. She moved all the way up to No. 1 from No. 5 in the previous poll. Renfro is 13-0 overall for the season.
Ritchey holds a record of 9-6 overall for the season, while Landreth is 8-3 overall. Both have one tournament placement for the season so far. Landreth finished second at the Maverick Open, while Ritchey was third at the Maverick Open.
Fort Hays State has seen five of its individuals in the national rankings so far this year.
Nichole Moore (138) and
Hailey Conley (207) started the year ranked in their classes in the preseason poll, but Landreth, Ritchey, and Renfro have all been in each of the regular season polls released.
Fort Hays State has six individuals among the regional rankings for Region 6 of the NCAA. Joining the three individuals mentioned above in the region rankings are
Kennedy Farrar (103),
Morgan Maschmann (124), and
Peyton Hellmann (138).
The latest Open Mat supplemental poll online, which ranks 20 wrestlers in each class, has eight Tigers in the individual rankings. The Tigers as a team are No. 11 in their dual and tournament rankings. The individuals ranked are
