SALINA, Kan. – The Fort Hays State track and field teams turned in a series of strong mid-distance performances tonight (April 18) at the Coyote Classic in Salina, Kansas, highlighted by several top-10 finishes and season-best marks.
On the women's side,
Eden Bathurst continued her impressive outdoor campaign with a second place finish in the 800 meters, clocking an outdoor season-best time of 2:17.16. In the 1500 meters,
Emma Weiner led the Tigers with a third place finish in 4:46.26, while
Ashlyn Harbaugh took sixth with a time of 4:50.16, and Mackenzie Premer rounded out the top ten in tenth at 4:54.92.
For the men,
Emery Wolfe placed eighth in the 800 meters with a season-best time for the team at 1:56.97, and
Ethan Fisher also earned an eighth place finish in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:04.65.
Chayse McCullough added a tenth place showing in the same event, running 4:10.79.
The majority of Tigers not competing at the Coyote Classic will be in action tomorrow (April 19) at the Loper Invitational in Kearney, Nebraska, with a focus on sprints and throws. Meanwhile, a select group of distance runners, including
Emily Diercks,
Christian Darrah, and
Noah Morenz, will represent FHSU at the prestigious Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.
