The Fort Hays State men's and women's cross country programs will send a portion of its athletes to the Muthama-Rogers Invitational Saturday (Sept. 13) hosted by Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. The men's eight-kilometer race will open the festivities at 9 a.m., with the women's five-kilometer competition to follow at 9:50 a.m.

The Tigers had a strong start to their season last week, with the women placing second and the men finishing third at the JK Gold Classic. The women defeated Division I host Wichita State in the process, with senior
Emily Diercks taking the individual title by nearly seven seconds.

Competitors for the women's team are expected to include

Eva Cortes,
Brenna Murphy,
Madelynn Nichols,
Makenzie Premer and
Cate Wiese.

Scheduled entries for the men's team include
Brady Conway,
Hans Deaton,
Kaiden Esfeld,
Kamryn Golub,
Eli Hopkins,
Zach Moore,
Ty Raulston,
Quade Smith,
Andrew Waller and
Luke Wessel.

Sixteen schools from the Midwest will be in contention at the race, including Bethany, Bethel, Butler CC, Central Christian, Colby CC, Dodge City CC, Hastings, Hesston, Kansas Wesleyan, Manhattan Christian, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Pratt CC, Sterling CC, Tabor and York.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will return to competition at the end of the month when they travel to Stillwater, Okla. for the Cowboy Jamboree on Friday, September 26. The Tigers will then conclude the regular season next month when they host the FHSU Tiger Open on Saturday, October 11.
