The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team hits the mat again on Sunday (Jan. 18) at the Roger Denker Open in Warrensburg, Mo. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

The Tigers are expected to send 22 competitors to Warrensburg, including five unattached wrestlers. The Tigers will have four competitors at 141 pounds, 165 pounds and 174 pounds, three in the 149-pound bracket and the 157-pound bracket and one each at 125 pounds, 133 pounds, 184 pounds and 285 pounds.

Fort Hays State has had 23 placers at open events so far this season, including one championship from
Ernesto Duenez (174) at the Cougar Open. Three other Tigers have reached a tournament final this year, with
Julien Kimling (141) finishing runner-up at the Adrian Open and
Houston Frank (174) and
Jaxson Thomas (285) placing second at the Bob Smith Open.

Kaden Markley (149) leads the squad with 16 wins this season, including a team-best 12 bonus-point wins and 11 pins.

Cason Lindsey (165) is entered in his first tournament of the season, with the senior picking up a 6-1 record in duals so far this year. His winning percentage of 85.7 percent is the best on the team.

Competitors from 13 other institutions are currently entered into the event, including three MIAA rivals in top-ranked Central Oklahoma, No. 17 Central Missouri and Newman.

The Tigers have competed unattached at the Roger Denker Open multiple times over the past few years, including a fifth-place finish from
Jett Schwartz at 133 pounds last season. However, this is the first time the Tigers will send their entire roster to Warrensburg for an open event since the 2012 Central Missouri Open.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will return to Mules Territory next week to take on UCM in an MIAA dual on Friday (Jan. 23) beginning at 7 p.m.
