John Johnson and defensive lineman
Gaven Haselhorst were named All-America selections by the Don Hansen Football Committee for the 2025 season. Both were honorable mention selections. This gives both a second All-America selection for the year, as they both received selections to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Team.
For Johnson, this is the second time he has been named All-America by the Don Hansen Football Committee. He also received an honorable mention selection back in 2023. Johnson led FHSU and ranked second in the MIAA for total tackles with 113. At the end of the regular season he ranked sixth nationally in total tackles before eventually finishing sixth in NCAA Division II for solo tackles per game and 11
th in total tackles per game. He reached double figures in tackles in six games throughout 2025, including a career-high 17 against Central Missouri. Johnson added 9.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles this year. He finished his career at FHSU with 343 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 5 forced fumbles, 4 sacks, and 3 interceptions. The 343 tackles ranks fourth in FHSU's NCAA Division II history.
This is Haselhorst's first All-America selection by the Don Hansen Football Committee. He was the only unanimous All-MIAA First Team selection on the defensive line for the 2025 season. He finished the year with 39 tackles, 6.0 sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. He led the Tigers in tackles for loss, while ranking ninth in the MIAA. He ranked fourth in the conference in sacks per game (0.55). Haselhorst is a two-time All-MIAA selection overall.
