The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team will compete at home for the final time in the 2025-26 season on Friday (Feb. 13) when the Tigers host second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The Tigers will recognize six student-athletes participating in their final home action before the dual begins, including

Justus Hulse,
Charlie Hutson,
Cason Lindsey,
Matthew Rodriguez and
Ryan Patterson.

Fort Hays State heads into the weekend 3-8 in dual action and 1-2 in MIAA competition, while the Lopers are 13-4 overall and 3-1 in league action.

197-pound starter
Ryan Patterson ranks second on the team with 18 wins this season, turning in a record of 18-7 overall. The Peyton, Colo. native is 10-1 in dual action while leading the team with 14 wins against Division II opponents. His five technical falls are also the most on the squad.

165-pounder
Cason Lindsey holds the top winning percentage on the team, claiming victory in 11 of his 14 bouts this season for a win rate of .786. Six of his 11 wins have been bonus-point victories, including three pins and three major decisions.
Cash Thomas at 157 pounds is tied for third on the team with 10 bonus-point victories, including four pins, four technical falls and two major decisions. His quickest pin of 22 seconds is second-fastest on the team this season.

The Lopers are ranked second nationally, with nine individuals ranked in the most recent NWCA Division II Coaches Poll.

The Tigers are looking for their first win against the Lopers since 2001, with UNK winning each of the last 24 duals in the series. Fort Hays State is 26-47 all-time against the Lopers.

Looking ahead, FHSU will wrap up the regular season next weekend (Feb. 22) with a dual at Newman before jumping into the postseason at the end of the month (Feb. 28) with the Super Region VI Championships in Golden, Colo.
