Â
Fort Hays State is coming off a 24-21 season in 2025, making its third-consecutive appearance in the MIAA Tournament. The Tigers have a lot of new faces on the squad this year, coupled with experienced veterans. The Tigers look to replace the void left by two of their stronger pitchers in program history,
Savanah Egger and
Morgan Schmidt, but they have several key pieces of their offense back this year.
Â
The Tigers are scheduled to start the season with three-straight tournament weekends before jumping into doubleheaders, which will dominate the schedule from March to the end of the regular season.
Â
Alexis Mohr is the top returner by batting average after hitting .316 in 2025. She led the team in doubles (9) and tied for the team lead in RBIs (22). Her younger sister
Lilly Mohr hit .309 as a freshman and led the team in home runs with seven and extra-base hits with 15.
Paige Thexton,
Lilliana Ramirez-Johnson,
Kaydawn Haag, and
Abbey Duarte are all regular starters who also return from last year. The Tigers also get back two-time All-MIAA performer
Peyton Shepard and
Hannah Green, who were both sidelined with injuries last year.
Â
Korryn Johnson is the top returning pitcher for FHSU after posting a 5.88 ERA and 13 strikeouts in a limited 13.2 innings of work last year.
Â
Adrian Pilkington is in her 12
th season leading the Tigers. She has 245 wins, most of any coach in program history.
