Fort Hays State Softball opens MIAA play this weekend (Mar. 13-14) at Central Missouri and Missouri Western. The Tigers take on the Jennies on Friday in a doubleheader at 2 p.m., then face the Griffons on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.

Fort Hays State enters conference play at 10-9 overall for the season. The Jennies go into the weekend with a record of 14-6 overall, while the Griffons are receiving votes in the national poll at 19-4 overall. The Tigers will serve as the MIAA opener for both teams. The Griffons do not play a conference team on Friday before hosting the Tigers on Saturday.

The Tigers are coming off a non-conference doubleheader split with Southwestern Oklahoma State earlier in the week in Hays. This weekend marks FHSU's first true away contests of the season after going 3-1 at home and 7-8 in neutral site action so far.

Fort Hays State has won its last four contests against Central Missouri, all in Hays by sweeping doubleheaders in 2024 and 2025. However, the Tigers will be seeking their first win in Warrensburg since the 2013 season.

The Tigers split their conference doubleheader with Missouri Western last season in Hays. The teams have split their last six contests overall.

Hannah Green leads the Tigers with a .463 batting average and 19 stolen bases.
Abbey Duarte is at .436 for the season with 24 RBIs.
Peyton Shepard has also been a big threat at the top of the order, hitting .424 with 17 stolen bases. In the pitching circle,
Solana Carpenter leads the Tigers with 12 appearances and 10 starts, striking out 44 batters in 53.1 innings.
