LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The Fort Hays State women's golf team placed sixth out of 10 teams at the SMSU Challenge this week (March 12-13) at the Wigwam Resort - Blue Course, a 5,631-yard, par-70 layout.

The Tigers sat in a tie for fourth after a 323 in round one before turning in a team score of 339 in round two on Friday.

Avery Blasi led the team in a tie for 18th with a two-round total of 22-over 162. She turned in FHSU's lowest round of 79 in the first round before posting an 83 on day two. Blasi tied for third in the 62-player field with 22 pars across 36 holes.

Alexis Elliott was two shots back at 24-over 164, placing 23rd. She signed for rounds of 81 and 83 while finishing in a tie for seventh in the field with three birdies.

Brynn Ray turned in rounds of 81 and 88 to finish at 29-over 169, placing in a tie for 31st.
Emma Walz finished one shot back at 30-over 170 (82-88), with
Hayden York another shot back at 31-over 171 (86-85) thanks to a trio of birdies.

Competing as an individual,
Jaycee Oakley carded four birdies on the week, one off the individual lead while finishing at 36-over 176 (86-90).
Kiley Maier also played as an individual, firing rounds of 83 and 97 to finish at 40-over 180.

Colorado Mesa secured the team title at 55-over, while Mesa's Payton Panzeri clinched the individual title at 5-over.
The Tigers will conclude their trip to Arizona with the SMSU Classic early next week (March 16-17).
