College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District selections for men's basketball on Tuesday (Mar. 24). Kyle Grill of Fort Hays State earned the distinction for the 2025-26 season. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected. Grill earned the honor for a second-straight year.
 
To be considered for Academic All-District selection, an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and compete in 90 percent of the team's contests or start at least 66 percent of contests at the time of nomination.

Grill was an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection for the second season in a row in 2025-26. He averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game for the Tigers this season, starting all 29 contests. He scored in double figures 20 times throughout the season, posting a season-high 22 points twice. He had one double-double in points and rebounds, going for 21 points and 11 rebounds against Bethel. Grill led the team in 3-point field goals made with 44. Over three seasons at Fort Hays State, Grill has accumulated 852 points and 352 rebounds. He is a Management major at FHSU, holding a 3.82 GPA overall.
