KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's basketball team placed five student-athletes on the 2025-26 MIAA Academic Honor Roll, announced Tuesday (April 14) by the conference office.

Kyle Grill collected the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award for the second year in a row, an award given to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.50 or higher that also earned All-MIAA honors that season.

Additional honorees on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll include
Alec Carlson,
Lucas Hammeke,
Tory Homan and
Dan Mukuna.

To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. The student-athlete must also earn All-MIAA honors during the current season.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

First-year student-athletes, including transfers and true freshmen, will be recognized at the conclusion of the school year when they meet the two terms of attendance requirement.
