Pair of Transfers Commit to FHSU Tennis

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State Tennis head coach Brian Flax announced the signing of a pair of transfers for the 2026-27 season. Charlie Stirling and Sandra Rodriguez will be joining the Tigers for the upcoming season, both after playing two seasons at their previous schools.

Stirling, a native of Rockhampton, Australia, played two seasons at NAIA affiliate Judson University in Illinois. She helped her team to a second-place finish in the conference last year, while earning all-conference honors for both singles and doubles. She was also named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and she plans to major in Psychology. Prior to her collegiate career from ages 15-17, she was the No. 1 ranked player for her region in the state of Queensland in Australia.

Rodriguez, a native of Meco, Spain, played two seasons at Pratt Community College. This past year she put together 19 wins in singles and doubles combined. She helped Pratt to a runner-up finish at the KJCCC Championships and then a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA Championships, the team's best national finish ever. In doubles play, Rodriguez and her partner finished the 2025-26 season ranked No. 11 in the nation.

Stirling and Rodriguez join six other newcomers to the Tigers who signed early during the 2025-26 academic year. The six early signings are all incoming freshmen. The newcomer group of eight joins six returners for the upcoming year.
